hi guys i am putting in a trailer brake setup on a friends 2000 250 and i need to know where the plug is under the dash and what color wire runs to the back to the plug for the trailer brakes thanks
The controller I installed had instructions and all I did was mount it below and to the right of the steering wheel. The plug is in that general vacinity. I had to get a relay and harness that was in the glove box (came with the tow package) and install it under the hood on the left hand side. That is all I did all wiring and the 7 pin connecter should be wired.hope this helps.
The wire colors on the harness? I'm pretty sure this is the one you'll have...
Dark Blue - Brake Control Output
Brown - Dimmer Control (Probably not used on your controller)
Lt. Green - Brake Switch Signal
White - Ground
Red - 12V Power Supply to Controller
I don't know the wire colors either, but the Ford adapter you get for your controller should only plug in to the plug in the truck. It is under the dash on to the right of the steering column, almost to the center console wall. That's all I needed in my 2003 was the Ford adapter. Just plugged it in and hooked it up to my controller. Piece of cake!
