Vacuum Gauge Hookup

I am going to hookup the vacuum gauge I just purchased this weekend to check on the condition of my 351M in my 78 F-250 (see my sig). The manual says to hook it up to "manifold vacuum" but I have no clue where that would be. Would I hook it up to a vacuum port on the carb (The motor has an Edelbrock 600cfm electric choke carb). As far as I know, it is the stock intake manifold. Thanks.

There should be a few vacuum ports on your intake manifold, some of them might be "capped" off with rubber plugs.

The manifold vacuum is located way back of the engine. Remove the air cleaner. Look further up north of the carburetor. The manifold vacuum resemble a flute.

yup. passenger side in the back of your intake manifold there will be a 'tree' with a bunch of vacuum ports on it. some are probably unused and capped off. just hook your gauge up to one of those.
