need more power!

Hello everyone, I have a 1982 F100 with a 255 CID V8 engine.Can anyone tell me how to get more power out of it.Its just stock right now. I'm looking for some fairly easy mods some quote " bolt on power".

i'm not familiar with the 255, but breathing upgrades are cheap and easy. start with a better intake filter, headers, dual exhaust.

I don't mean to offend, but the 255 v8 is considered one of Ford's mistake engines. It only lasted a couple of years. It's a small bore 302, with very small ports on the heads and intake. You can try the usual bolt on stuff, but always keep a lookout for a good used 302. That will be the good foundation on which to build up.

351w would be a good choice at least itll bolt to your trans.dont waist your time with the 255 unless its ben rebuilt

You can also advance the ignition as far as you can before the motor starts to ping. That usually gives you a few more ponies and it runs a bit better. And its FREE!
