I change the headlight switch and the dimmer part of the old one looked bad, but I still had no instrument lights. I then noticed the fuse for the dash lights was a 15 amp (it's supposed to be a 5) and it was burned out. I think that the bad dimmer was causing the fuse to blow, so the previous owner had tried a bigger fuse. I changed the fuse to the correct rating and some of my dash lights have started to work. It's really strange but a few more have come on as I've been driving the truck.
The turn signals and hazard lights work, but those bulbs on the dash don't seem to work. Is there any way to change these without taking the dash all the way apart. What about the bulb in the speedometer? It's pretty easy to forget to cancel with turn signal without the warning lights.
Its really simple just pull the few screws out that hold the cluster in place and clean it up back there. Franklin is right I would say clean all the bulb contacts and such.

I see two of the screws up at the joint between the cluster and the top of the dash, where are the other two?
I have some kind of aftermarket cupholder type thing that's screwed to the front of the dash just below the instruments, wonder if they're hiding under that.
Um its been a long time since I took mine out last but if I remember correctly you had to remove the plastic from the gauge cluster and the screws should just be right below that.
You have to take the headlight **** out, and the wiper **** off. Take two screws out of the top, and lift the decorative piece of plastic off. I think it's pretty obvious after that, except the speedo cable. You have to pull the cluster around enough to slide your hand behind it, and then grab the back of the speedo where the cable goes in, and push sideways on a white plastic retainer. That will release the speedo cable and let you take the cluster out a little further to get the wiring plug off.
