B&M tranny drainplug PIC...is this right?

This is my tranny drainplug that i got on Ebay motors....
I cranked on the outer/lower bolt/plug and this is as far as it goes in....maybe I'll be able to put it on the lower side of the pan to avoid ground clearance issues.
is that right or did i get ripped? I wasn't in the B&M packaging...

I bought a Jegs drainplug for my E4OD and it is not a flush fit either. I put it in on the side of that bump on the bottom of the pan. It may not get every last drop out but at least I won't get an ATF shower.

I agree. If you are concerned with ground clearance issues, put it in the side of the pan.

Your picture didn't come thru, but I have 2 B&M drain bolts. They do stick out a bit, maybe 1/2 -3/4 inch from memory. One problem I had with both plugs was that the plastic washer they supply squeezes out and leaks if you torque it to their spec. I forget what torque I used but I torqued to something much less and it works fine.

Yeah the dimple in my E4OD was the perfect spot for my plug. Other trannies you might have to look around since for example on my chebby 4L60, there are a lot of moving parts that would contact the plug so you have to figure out what moves where etc.

Good Luck,
