Guys I,m getting further into my crew cab project and would like to put a mint 79 dash and steering column into my 77. My problem is the neutral switch. Originally it was on the column, the 79 had it on the tranny. Can you explain/show me how it would mount on my c6 will it even mount on an older c6? Also where would the wiring hook in ? I have the complete wiring with the dash but it was a 4 spped truck.I also wanted to know if there was a way to tell if a wiper motor has intermintenet inh it just by looking at it? Thanks for your replys, Ryan
Is the early C6 trans casting actually different? I have a '77 and a '79, maybe when the rain stops I can take a look at the housing where the switch mounts on the 79 and compare to the 77. I had also thought about using the 79 steering column in my 77. Hmm.
Thanks for the replys guys. The 79 was a 4 speed I want to stay with the auto. I have another c6 but I am not sure what year. I was also told the spacer for the trans cases are different. This c6 came out of a Bronco. Any suggestions on how to get aruond this problem short of finding a newwer trans?
I just got the engine pulled today so that I can clean up the firewall and edge the cab Now I can also give the 400 a top end rebuild, reman heads, Weiand 4 barrel intake. I'll start on the exhaust bolts after dinner. Have a great day
Good news guys I don't know if my trans was changed or what but it has the 2 threaded mounting holes for the switch. I should be able to bolt it right up. Does anyone have a wiring diagram as to where the neutral wires go to? Thanks Again
