Question F-150 milage span?

I own a '98 f-150. I love it and its always been a good truck. I bought it in 02 with 60,000miles on it and now it has 163000. Kelly blue book tole me the average is 85000 for my truck. I just replaced a clutch master cylinder, all roters, and a few dings and dents. I think im going to be in the market for a new f-150 with-in the year but feel guilty about not using the truck until its on its death bed, is anybody aware of some type of quoted milage or life span for a truck of my description?

I've seen alot of 200,000 mile trucks. The key is when something needs attention get after it and use good parts. Fluid changes are important too!

I have an 01 supercab, 4x2 with the 4.2 v-6 with almost 117k, never been to the shop except the cruise control recall. Neighbor has a 99 with the 4.6, 4x4 and has turned 200k and is his daily driver.
A salesman in the company I work for as a 2000, 5.4, 4x4 that is pushing 250k. You and that truck still have some time together.

I have 130,000 on my 97. I plan to keep it for 2 more yrs at least. I've driven several trucks over 250,000 miles. I kept them clean & did all my maintence on the heavy service schedule. The 92 model I had last had 285,000 miles on it when I sold it in 99. Its still running &has the origional motor. I use Royal Purple synthetic oil in everything on my trucks. I can't prove this is what made them last so well but I'm sticking with it. Todays motors will last 200,000 miles easy if taken care of right.

Todays motors will last much longer than 200,000 if taken care of... Heck theres guys on here with 300-400 thousand miles and still running... my dads got 181,000 on his 01 Screw and that thing still drives like brand new... and he pulls a trailer with it all the time...

98 f-150 ext cab with 3rd door 4x4 here....246,000 miles today and never done any engine work other than plugs, wires and a starter...still has original exhaust..HOWEVER...I think the head gasket may be bad on it...i started getting some white smoke today and smelled coolant when i got out of it...I will definitley fix this truck though...I have owned it since 2001 and I still love it...

It's possible, but I find that hard to beleive-Doing the basic math on that-it would have been driven 553 miles per day,or roughly 9 hours every day for 5 years straight.

Not saying you're lying, but think about it....9 hours of driving every day for 5 years....without a single day off for repairs, maintenance, etc.
It's just alot.

01 4.2L 5spd w/ 149000. SECOND mazda 5 spd abbout dead, first one replaced under warranty. As long as you have an automatic your truck will have lots of life left in it. I have a great running 4.2L(up for dibs ) that is coming out because I won't put another tranny behind it. Pretty bad IMO when one clutch out lasts too trannys. It's getting a big block though because I have one, i don't drive it much anymore, and most importantly...Because I can. It was my first new truck ever, I think I'll hang onto it.

I have 200,503miles on my 97 F150 4.6 auto 4x4, and it has only been in the shop a couple times. Once for starter and shocks. I plan on keeping the truck until the body falls off most likely. I pull 4500lbs with every now and then. It is my daily driver. I bought the truck when it had 170k and all I have done is just regular maint. It gets fresh MC 5w30 every 3k miles. I figure by the time I pay off the loan for it I'll have over 250k on it.

JmBailey, those are classic signs of a slave cylinder going out. Just spent a saturday doing one in a friends truck for the same reasons.
