ok well ive done searches and found nothing. this is a pretty simple question all i need to know is with a 4" or a 6" lift on a 01 f-250 sd 5.4 do i need to get longer drive shafts?
You can get away with the stock shaft with a 4" lift, but the six or greater is going to require some attention. The rear shaft will be alright for either. The center support bearing (if equiped) will have to be lowered but it will fit.
There are two options for the front. Since the yokes are flange type, some companies offer a spacer to lengthen it, or a longer shaft is in order. If you fail to lengthen it, you run the risk of it coming apart upon full extension of the driver side suspension.
