Wow – I finally pick up the new truck this weekend. What a machine - this is what driving is all about for me. It’s taken me a few days to post, mostly because I’ve been driving when I'm not working or sleeping. I do need to get some early impression on the board and close the loop on some of the challenges we had getting her delivered. To recap here are some highlights:
FX4 plus Supercrew with 6.5 box.
Black with the 20 inch wheels / Pirelli’s .
Loaded – Leather, NAV, Rear DVD etc, etc…
And the fun stuff:
Roush InterCooled SC
Roush off road duel exhaust
Roush front sway bar
Bilstein shocks all around
Other than the two very nice Roush exhaust tips on the back, this truck looks completely stock which is exactly what I wanted. The sound, the handling and yes the POWER are very special. This is my 3rd F150 – previous was an 04, FX4 – before that I had an 01 “sport” flare side so I have some frame of reference and this truck leaves everything I’ve experience in the dust. (& I loved my 04)
This truck is fast, tight and like all the F150's – looks fantastic.
I did post a couple of weeks ago about the problems picking up the truck – in truth we still have one outstanding issue (remote starter still isn’t working) but the truck just makes you forget the trouble. The dealership has also ordered me a nice Roush jacket which I think was an excellent gesture considering the challenges. I’m going to break her in for a few thousand before I get out a stop watch or go find a dyno – I can say the power is smooth – much smoother than my 04 was with basic mods, programmer etc… I can go on & on but I'm just as happy to answer any questions anyone has. If your thinking about it, wondering if it’s worth the extra cash - all I can say is YES!
Thank-you Meadowvale Ford <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comMississauga </st1:City></ST1& thank-you Roush for helping me make a dream come true…
I think I’m going to take a spin around the block.
Give Troyer Performance a call and get it tuned. Roush's tune leaves much on the table. Did you know with Roush's tune the boost doesn't kick in until 80% throttle? You'll get a good 1 second or more in the 1/4 mile with the tune alone.
Glad you like it. I'm driving a blown Roush truck and its fantastic.
Man I can relate to your feelings. I have a F-150 SC, Stage 3 with about everything that Kens project truck has. It ws built for Mark Martin with a special color scheme and a few different interior trims. It also started out as a FX4 before Roush started on it. There were 6 of these trucks built for Mark and ours is #3 of 6. I purchased a Carrol Shelby alarm system that has a miniture display on the key chain that shows a cobra on it. When you do the remote start, it beeps and lets you know what is going on. Then when it is started remotely, it shows a little animation of exhaust coming out the tail pipes. If someone mess with the truck it will highlight the fender or door or whatever part of the vehicle has been messed with. It also has a pager tab on the windshield if someone wants to page you while you are away from the truck. My other purchase of big value was Xcalibrator 2 from Troyer Performance. They did the custom tunes for it and helped me do things right. Mike Troyer himself called me to help me out. I had it dynoed but the place really didn't quite do it right. Even with that happening, it was still turning 340 rwhp and I have the 20" wheels. It's just great to have this kind of vehicle and I can still travel in style. My 4 and 5 yr old grandkids think they are riding in a race truck with me. I know you are extremely pleased with your truck if your having any of the feelings I'm having when I drive mine. I even got Jack Roush to autograph under the hood and on the dash while he was doing a meet and greet in Texas. Oh yeah, Mark Martin also autographed in both places when I purchased it along with Carl Edwards. He was with Mark at his dealership for the Race Fans Only,QVC show they did live from there. I'm sorry for rattling on but I'm glad you have such a great truck also.

Roush has several racing driver additions - not made for the drivers, but marketed as editions with color schemes tributing those drivers. Basically, different color schemes from the standard trucks which makes them more of a limited addition. Just like the upcoming Foose F150s won't be made for Chip Foose, just marketed as special editions of the F150. Roush does a lot of limited edition of their vehicles (oxy moron I guess) - my guess is it helps keep prices high.
Hi Ken. Glad you got to see the pics and Roush signing it. I got a certificate with the truck authenicating the 6 vehicles. Mark Martin and Jack signed it but before I but it. I now have both signatures and pictures of them handing me the certificate. I hope that will help it's value also someday. I saw where you were having some trouble with your truck. Have they figured it out yet? Surely it isn't anything major. I got to visit with Mike Troyer last week about the tunes I have. Man was that an experience. Does that guy know his stuff or what. He sure gave me an education. Troyer Performance is probably the friendliest and caring performance shop I have ever done business with. Ken, I bet you really had a great time with them when you got your truck done. I know it was a lot of work also but some jobs are jobs and some jobs are great. Talk to you later. Oh yeah, check the pic of the Foose 'Tang. It was a little dark when I shot that one. Thanks Blurry94 for the comment. As you can tell, it doesn't take much to get me started on my truck. Oh by the way, that woman in the pics with me was how I was able to purchase the truck and all the great collectables I have. Life just wouldn't go on without her. She even hung part of one of Mark Martins' race cars, drivers side window, front post to back post, side metal IN THE LIVING ROOM. Is that love or what. Boy do I have it good!!

Your wife sounds a lot like mine. She has a collection of over 150 Ford truck minitures.
My truck is fixed. Turned out its something small but I'm going to hold off on further comments about it until I talk with Roush about standing behind their warranty. Hopefully it was just a miscommunication between the dealer and Roush.
Hi Ken. Boy that's good to hear. Especially since I have an Identical type vehicle. I guess the one difference is Roush built mine. Surely they will stand up for you. I got to see a Black Jack Mustang yesterday. The Mustang Group had a little show at a Roush Packager/parts installer here in Tulsa. This place is called FX, and a magazine reporter was coming through on his way to California for some show. He wanted to see the Black Jack and some of the other local cars and trucks. I guess he's going to do an article on it. The store has already been in a couple of national magazines and now does Roush Authorize installs and parts. That Black Jack is sweet. Anyway, keep me update on the problem resolution. Even if you need to send a personal Email. I am sure interested in the problem/fix on that. Isn't it great to have a spouse that understands and enjoys the same things. We are very lucky guys. Good Luck, talk to ya later.
