TN Mac you shouldn't be making comments about that, I happen to love our '05 6.0L, 55k miles and not a single problem. If they are all junk, I haven't seen it yet. Stop posting assinine things.
I had the same problem but I was working with X-Plan. The dealer didn't want to sell the new truck that low cuz he knew someone would come in and pay retail for it. So they lowered my trade. I've noticed that Ford dealerships are getting more cut-throat on both trades and new truck sales. But I happened to go to another dealers across town and they honored my request. I was happy.
tn mac, if you are going to pollute the thread with general comments like this...yet again...I am going to remove your posts or lock the thread.
You and I have discussed your "all 6.0s are junk " claims many times over the years. You have a penchant for making claims like this whether direct, subtle, or implied. Please cease and desist.
I guess I should have just said mine is junk, I guess I should not bring any of the flaws in the design of the 6.4 to light. I said and believe ford has the best truck and the worst engine design for service. IF that is spewing then so be it. all you have to do is look at the engine and talk to a tech and see what they think about the serviceability of the 6.4. .

Geaux Fish I just read your story and gave me thought to go ahead and try a few more dealers before I throw in the towel as well. Hope my trade in has not dropped another $3,000 since yesterday (haha) Wish me luck!
You people really need to let up on the 6.0. Ford finally got it right the last 2 years it was in production. Granted the 03 and 04 had problems, but that was mainly due to the PCM and injectors, not the basic engine design. Just because people were blowing the heads off these motors with after market chips does not mean it was a bad design. What you all are missing is that the 6.4 is the 6.0 only bored out and different heads put on it.
Now on to the real reason no one is getting decent trade in values. This is simply due to the incentives that ford gave on the 2005- 2006 F250s.
Remember the summer of 2005 when Ford GAVE AWAY their F250 diesels for employee pricing ? Hell, you could not get a call on a used 2004 for any thing near what they were worth. The trade in values were even worse. Ford has never since offered a employee discount program. They got call after call with angry owners of thier product that could not give thier trucks away.
It is like Famous Barr giving you money back on that sweater you do not have a receipt for. The sales lady simply tells you that the sweater was on sale for 90 percent off and she will give you 10 percent if you want to return it.
Actually, the dealers have been using this tactic for years. I think Famous Barr is a subsidiary of Ford. LOL.

It is not "us" people, it is just tn mac crying about his truck (which he still owns oddly enough) and constant sniveling falls on deaf ears around here. He is like chicken little and the sky is always falling. Pay no attention to him as his opinions are about as valued as a fat turd in a bowl of Wheaties. I choose not to engage the mentally challenged and refuse to pay any attention to his constant "6.0's suck and the 7.3 is the ONLY motor worth owning" nonsense.
Consider his replies to be like a mild case of jock itch and do not scratch it. I have a 2006 6.0 with 23K miles and not so much as a hiccup so far and if it does hiccup then the dealer will handle it. Simple. This entire thread was started by me only to discuss the failings of my dealer to get me into a new 08 and not to listen to his nonsense but he never stops. If I were as unhappy as him I would go bite the end of my pistol or at the very least unload my truck but it probably more fun to come on here and cry all day, every day about how his truck failed him somehow. Again, the same truck he still drives every day.....
Well I gotta admint, I am not a big fan of Ford anymore. However, I hate Chrysler and Cheby has been sitting on thier hands now for years. I have never been attracted to the cheby line. Ford at least tries to be innovative. What angers me about the American auto industry is that they follow the federal and state guidelines dealing with Miles per Gallon. The United states does not want good gas milage. They want the tax on every Gallon of gas to cover their expensis for the states infrastructure. The more gas people burn per mile the better for the states tax revenue. Alcohol and tobacco have heavy "sin" taxes becuase people like to drink and smoke. I always get a kick out of the guys with thier baseball caps spun around backwards driving thier camaros with the 454s, smoking and drinking a cold one. Yep, thier supporting our way of life.
I have an 05 F350, it was bought new and I have not had a single problem with the motor. Very happy with it... there may be a tranny problem developing but that has yet to be diagnosed. A reboot may be all it needs.
This truck has been worked, towing a fully loaded cargo trailer daily. I live on a mountain so everyday it's working hard up the hill. The grade is steep and the truck has not ever let me down. It tows very well, so much so that you don't even notice the trailer.

they will never give you 30k for a used 6.0 they cant sell it for that amount, the word is out on the 6.0 everyone knows they are junk. I had mine listed in the truck trader for 3 months not one call and mine is in mint cond.
JUNK??????? I have a 6.0 with 42k miles and not one problem, she still pulls like a 12 legged mule on steriods. I'm also using Suprchips 1805 programer. No radiator puke leaks, No head gasket failures, No rear oil seal leaks, no injectors replaced, same turbo, same everything! Never cleaned out the EGR! Only one flash back in 2004. My build date is 04-04. Yes there are many issues with the 6.0. With Ford selling the most Diesels than Chebby and Dodge combined, if a small percentage of motors goes out the door, that's a heck of a lot of motors. A lot of people here, troll and make up bogus stories. You can see the same people over at Chebby and Dodge sites. There's allways someone trying to stir the pot. Most people I have talked to that have a 6.0 said they had no or minimal issues. I have personal taked to about 12 people. Just a small sample, but still a sample (isn't that how polls work?).
I should have said mine is junk not all , but it is just depressing when it is running it is a very strong truck. It just stays in the shop so much,I would sell it if I could get anything for it but no takers, unless I just give it away. I am hoping the new truck will be a winner it sure does ride and handle nice.
Hey Bob -- I'm in CA as well and had the same problem with local dealers. I used the FTE purchase program which was with Suburban Ford up in Oregon, back when PolarBear worked there. There was supposed to be someone else that would offer the same deal up at Suburban, so you may want to check out the New Ford Buyer section on FTE.
Suburban and PolarBear gave me one heck of a trade in price, sight unseen, and they followed thru 100% on the deal when my ordered truck came in 9 weeks later. It was absolutely worth the drive up there! Their price beat X plan, by the way...
