Todd,

Thanks for the offer Todd. I was sitting at a light in 1995 and was rear-ended by a 1 ton doing 50 mph. Since that time I can’t crawl under a truck and do any work while lying on my back with out getting sick. Besides, my Daddy was a mechanic and gave me sound advice when I was growing up. He said “If you every pick up a wrench to make a living I will beat you in the head with a GD hammer”. I decided early in live to make a living with a “pen” (Insurance business) not a wrench so I could afford to have someone else turn the wrench for me.

Last year my Daddy who is now in his eighties rode with me to call on one of my clients in my insurance-consulting business. I thought the ride together would be could for both of us. Daddy stayed in the car while I saw my client. When I got back in the car he asked, “ How much money did you make?” I told him. He said, “Let me see your hands”. His point was I had made money with out getting dirty from using a wrench like he did to make a living. This Man taught me old school mechanics and I will forever be thankful for the times we spent working together while I was growing up with dirty hands.

To each their own. I dont turn wrenches either. And I wouldnt say that I was well off, but lets just say money isnt an issue. I wouldnt pay anyone to do what I can do myself. Weather its any of my bikes, my boats, rvs, or any of my cars or trucks, it just isnt worth it to me. I have worked my butt off my entire life to get where I am, just to have some parts changer charge me 85 bucks an hour to wrench on a truck and drink a few cold beers. Thats too bad about your back, you could have saved some money for th real mods, or atleast a tank of fuel...LOL
