Great, now I have to clean an area to get to the press
Before we rearch them, I have another idea to think about.
Do the sping hangers and shackles go directly under the frame? Or off to the side?
If directly under the frame, I have some 2.5in x.120 box tubing we could use for "instant lift", I don't know if I'd like the idea of doing it this way if the front hangers bolt on the side of the frame though.
Front springs are directly under the frame. The easiest way to get lift would be to use longer shackles in the rear plus lifting blocks, but the spings are practically flat and should have some arch bent into them. The rears are in brackets riveted to the side of the frame. I'll take pics tomorrow so you can see exactly what we're working with. If we put our heads together we should be able to come up with some workable alternatives...or not!
The original highboys came with some light-weight blocks between the springs and the axles. The truck we took the front axle out of should have had these blocks. I am not sure the blocks were under the front, but they sure were factory under the rear.
No blocks in front. It had some nice blocks in the rear, about 3-4 inches but when Karl and I went looking for the truck it looks like it went to the crusher already...
... no what we wnat to do to lift it we everyone is here,
I'm sorry, in English please...?(Sorry, couldn't resist...'specially after the comment two posts back!)
Okay, I'm slowly getting my act together here. Got a few things to do to the Rover before its' first road trip tomorrow, I'll post the pics a little later this evening.
Have to forgve me, I used to have my old laptop set up to "auto correct" for eveything typed, I've gotten into the habit of just typing and clinking "send"
