8 or 10 inch wheels?

I have a 2001 f-250 PSD. I recently picked up some Mickey Thompson MTZ 315x75x16 tires. I'm planning on doing a 4 inch lift. Most likely an all spring Superlift. What size wheels do most people run and do you have pics? Also any recomendations against Superlift? Seems to be the best deal I can get and have rear springs insteed of blocks. Thanks.

if you actually hit the dirt, then 8" wide wheels (holds the bead better when aired down and looks better) ... IMHO, 10" wide wheels don't look good unless you run a 13.5" wide tire... my .02... but a 10" does good on the street for a pavement pounder... and if you look having a wheel stick out 2" further, the more power to you

I'm running a 10" wheel. Looks a lot better IMO. You can see the pictures in my gallery. But they're right if you're going to hit a lot of dirt with the truck. You'll want the 8".

Anyone have any good links to pictures? I saw a post with a ton of good lift pictures but I can't find it again.

I would run the 10 inch if your getting a lift. the ten inch ones usually look alot better. If you drive on gravel alot though, you might want the 8 inch ones, so they dont spit rocks on your paint job.

Go check out a bunch of trucks before you make a decision on both the wheels and the lift. For the relatively small tire you are going to run, an 8" wheel will most likely be a better choice for contact patch (depending on tire manufacturer), and definitely will be a better choice for the longevity of the front wheel bearing assemblies. These do die and they are not a bargain, even at wholesale. Drive some trucks with different brand lift parts, and check the quality very carefully of the lift parts themselves, and of the leafsprings. Thinner leaves in higher quantities (10-12) ride much better than thicker leaves in lower quantities (4-6). Educate yourself very carefully and you won't have to do it more than once.

I think your truck is really pushing me to the 10's. I'll be running the same height lift and the same tires. I think i like the 10's if you are running an agressive enough tire. With an AT they don't look right.

Watch the PSI in the tire with 10 in Wheels. I Run 55 in front and 45 in the rear when not hauling anything That seems to give me the best tire wear pattern. Flat across the board, Front and rear for about 5,000 miles then I Rotate them. I cross the front to the rear the move the rear stright Forward.

The stock rims on my 05 Seem to were the Standerd 4X4 patteren on the front real fast. It's hard to rotate them enough times to make them wear right!!

When I initially went to 315's on my 99 I had 8" rims..... YUCK, If you tow anything, they will be squirrely, I would definately go with 10", I have 315/75/16 on the Ex with a 5.5" lift and tow our 10,500 toyhauler and it does great, and I think they look better also. You will be happier with the 10" in the long run, you won't be buying another set of rims like someone I know <~~

nice truck. quick question, what do you think of these tires? looking at getting a set. I spend 90% of my time on the pavement but really like the look of these. so i'm mainly concerned about how they perform on the road and in the rain.

same here.

after much research i decided on these; and it was a good choice. they wear awesome; i have about 20k on them now and they're wearing flat and slowly. real smooth, and not too loud for a mud tire.. comparable to the BFG mud's i had on my last truck. but these are much better in the rain and on the ice.

when (if??) these wear out, i'll buy another set in a heartbeat.
