Tuesday progress report
Then back to it. We started to weld all the pcs together. We made the bottom part of 49 willards base, then made two brackets to attach to the explorer seats, and then made the top part to mount the seat brackets to. I wanted to keep the seats on their slides to move back and forth. I am only 5'6" so I did not want to limit is to us vertically challenged. Next I went to the hardware store to buy a tap set to tap my bolts for the seats. The pickings were slim but finally found ones I thought would work I will take Jim Hackney's advice and buy a complete set at Harbor Tools tomorrow. I will now put in the carpet on the floor and then mount my base them put the seats on. I will need to figure out seat belts next.
I painted the base black so it will be ready to go when the carpet is down. I also rough cut the carpet so I can get a good jump on it tomorrow. Doesn't seem like alot of work completed, but I am a rookie welder so I took my time.
I am done for tonight, but will start by 10.00 am after I put in bills and sales at restaurant. I will post some pics tomorrow to 49 willard can see how I set it up.
