Im replacing the old rubber ones with some stainless steel braided lines. Figure the old ones have seen better days, not to mention the new lines are longer. My question is: Are there some O-rings or something Im missing? The lines are tight, I haven't begun the bleed process cuz I'm seeing some seepage from the fittings. Got a pretty good idea that it will leak worse once theres pressure on the lines. Am I on the right track??
is it front or rear? if its the rear maybe you need to just tighten them. if its front, and is leaking on top where the lines connect it may be tightened. if its on the bottom on the caliper you need or need new copper crush washers. if the didn't come with the new hoses go to the parts house and get your problem solved.
Its the front. I installed the line from the proportioning valve down to the axle. Leaking at the Tee where it splits to each caliper. I looked closely at the old brake line.....I couldn't see where there were any crush sleeves to begin with. The instruction sheet said washers were supplied.....didn't see any. Now I suppose a phone call to the place I ordered them from is next, or a stop at my local NAPA store. The rear doesn't look to be as challenging, cuz theres plenty of room to swing a wrench. Oh....I've cranked the fittings tight as I can get them without doing any damage. If i try any harder I'll be rounding off the hex.(or bending tubes!)

sometimes the copper crush washers are not so visible on the old. i had an escort i drove for 2 months, one morning no brakes. those washers were missing.
