Great Find

Ive been driving a 1980 f100 longbed, inline 6 pushing 390,000 miles. Engines great but the body is falling off and the windshield support is gone. So Ive been looking around for another truck. I found an 88 f250 4x4, extended cab and long bed, manual with the 7.3. I talked to the guy and we resurrected it today. Within 10 min. it was started and running up and down the road. We were talking about price and I ended up buying it for 950. Everything works and the body is almost perfect(A little door rust). I live in Florida, and people here think their old cars are worth gold. I just can't believe I got for so little.

Yeh its a nice area to live in. For the most part everything is pretty quiet, but for being a nowhere kinda of a place we have our gangs. The moment I pull off of 415 everday going onto Howland, I automatically see six to seven cops. The f100 was always a head turner between the sound and body appearance(Rusty/holes everywhere), but I gonna have fun with this truck, it already runs a strait pipe no muffler out of the passenger side before the wheel. Can't beat the sound of an old diesel engine.

That is about 1/3 what that truck would have gotten in WV.

You stole it as far as prices go up here.

now don't tell me the a/c works too. lol make sure you buy some napa cool to keep those cylinders intact. i'm going to start adding some 2 stroke oil to my fuel, because of the low sulphur diesel now being sold. i always did ad a little diesel kleen. just makes them run smoother.

Yeah, I'd say you got a good deal. Around here you couldn't even talk to anybody about selling that truck for less than $2500....

Welcome to the wunnerful world of IDIs.....

Like I siad people here in Florida think their cas are worth gold. The guy I got the truck from stopped driving it to drive a 2007 ram with a hemi. I think that he just wanted it out of his yard. The everything on the truck works except the windshield wipers but I havent checked the fuses as of yet. Anyone interested in an f100, will sell for cheap .
