1 hour later...
well, did the first oil change....took about an hour.....i never thought i would say that i wish the filter was at the same spot as my 01 F150 but i do.....at least with that i could turn it more than an 1/8th of an inch at a time.....what a pain in the **** that was....came off ok just takes to freaken long.....
i think i'm going to get the oil filter socket for on the end of the filter and a long extension and do it that way next time....seames it will go much faster that way than with the strap wrench i'm using now...

wrap sandpaper around the filter then just grab it and turn that is all it takes, I most often use 100-120 grit. This works on all filters!
