HELP! Auto won't shift

I was leaving my wifes work and when I shifted from reverse to drive a bolt fell on my foot and I had to move the lever all the way down to 1 to engage D. I looked under their breifly then came in to post this before waisting any time. luckily i'm at home, but waiting for a call and I have dial up so will check back real soon. Thank you for all your help.

Well I feel pretty silly now, when I went back out I found it pretty quick. It went right on the end of the shaft to hold the arm for the cable, if you follow me.
