I checked out a green 70/1 Ranchero/$3,900 today and there is too much rust in the rear quarters and the floor boards are toast.
It`s a shame as it has the orginal paint, is straight and clean with even the factory hubs caps. Looks nice from 20 feet away.
It has a 302/auto, shows 46,000 miles so it must be 142,000.
It is so straight and nice other than needing the seat recovered that`s a shame about the rust.
The price came down to $3,500.
I figure it would take around $5,000 for a body and paint job to be driver plus what ever mechanicals needed. It would be interesting enough at around $2,500 except for all my other projects.
Man your wetting my appetite to see the car. Those years are some of my favorites in Rancheros. I'm not after it, No cash, and any cash I need for home improvement and bill paying.
The silly part is it`s still bothering me and I keep thinking about it.
I know it will be still there if/when I decide to go for it, he`s in no hurry to sell it.
It could be such a neat ride.....
I say go for it. If nothing else it could sit a few years till after you finish your 56, and if you think about it its not all that expensive, maybe jew him down a tad though and your good to go.
