coastdown clunk

Hi everyone. I own a 99 F150 Triton 5.4 L 4X4 with 111K Kilometers

I know I read something about my problem when I first found this site this morning ( i beleive something about the PCM ) but searched plenty though the forum for more info but turned up empty. Ok...to the issue at hand,

When I let the vehicle coastdown on it's own from let's say 110kmh (foot is off the gas ) I will get a clunk at aprox 100kmh then another at 90kmh as well as 78 to 80kmh

If I let it coast from say 77kmh down to 10kmh or less there is no clunk.

It will also do it if I accelerate from 0 to 80kmh let off the gas and let it coastdown it will do it a about 78 79kmh
And then same thing if I were to accelerate to 100kmh or so and let it coast down from there it does it.

Sorry if it's a long post but I trying to explain it properly and thanks to anyone who can help out with this problem....it's really starting to annoy the crap outta me.

Here's the link to how I found this site. It gives me a brief description of the prob/fix to my coastdown clunk. I then goes on to say "To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts "

Which I am now and it does not give me anymore info.

Any help with same experiences would be appreciated. Thanks

Mike

When I go in, it appears to be ok. I will do some checking.

Myne has done the same thing for years...i have know idea what it is...its when the transmision shifts into overdrive with out any pressure from acceleration on it...

Really weird...

The only problem is that my truck orginally had a 4.6l in it and now it has a 5.4l..and it has always done it...so i dont know...apparently ford wont help me...
