Cancel the order for additional chairs, I rolled another project in (Go Cart to finish up) and seating space will be limited, so plan on leaning or standing
Will pick up some small diamter (think it 023 or 025) wire this week and maybe get some other tanks filled, I also have to fill my Oxygen tanks..like to have them ready to go in case the welder has any issues...I've not done much O/A welding, but something tells me if need be, Dan might be best at plugging the holes with the gas welder...but I just want to have it as a back up, still trying to get some time to test the MM35 out.
Did pick up a set of '31 Plymouth front and rear axle setup for my '31 Dodge chassis, my Dodge has the woodspoked wheels, but the Plymouth has 5 on 5.5 hubs and is a direct fit...and an easy way to run a steel wheel for the hotrod I'm, going to make out of it.
I will not be able to make it. My neighbor doesn't have the S10 yet, and I can't afford the gas for my beast at the moment. Have to pay off a big PG&E bill.
I am thinking of bringing a HF outfit - I need help setting it up. It has flux core wire in it now, but I have the things needed to convert it. If you want I can bring it up during the week so we can be sure it will work for the weekend.
Also, my torch has the small bottles so I can bring it if needed.
I only have one plug on a 15 amp (previous owners hack job) circuit for 110 wired in right now, if 220, no problems..do you want to just convert it for gas?
No use making two trips unless you need a road trip, we should have plenty of time on Saturday to set it up.
Don't worry about your torch set, I have to get my small Oxy bottle swapped anyway, the valve took a dump and won't open and my Dad's big tank is super low...I don't use a torch very ofetn, but I know about the second the big tank is out, I'll need it for something.
Na, it needs a 20 amp 110v circuit. If you don't need it I will leave it at home.
Here at home I added a 110 outlet to my 220v welding extension cord. My buzz box and compressor needs the 220, while I wanted a strong 110 circuit for my saws and grinders.
Since I never run more than one thing at a time the unbalanced load does not cause a problem.
Oh, hey Chet, there is room across the street on some dirt to park it, but it's a bit soggy after this weekends rain...there's still some spots of standing water there, I'll take a look towards the end of the week and see if it's dried out some
ANother update, I have plenty of gas in my MM35, no need to fill the bottle, don't see much OA work coming up in the next few days, so shuld have plenty in my tank if needed.
Clint,
I'll be running some plugs off a 20 amp breaker this week, so if you still want to bring yours down and switch it over to gas, no problem...couple things to thinnk about...
Are the rollers and the liner in your gun correct for the non-flux core wire you have? Also the tip might need to be swapped..
I/e, if the flux core you have is .035 and the wire you are going to run is .023, the rollers and tip definitely need to be changed (you can get by with a loose liner though, in most cases)...
But usually if your FC wire is 035 and your non-flux wire is .030, everything should be compatible.
