This guy was hiding for a good reason. It took more than ten minutes for the shop to clear out. First time on a Mustang. I've never seen my truck spool that slow and blow that much smoke.
466hp 942tq uncorrected on a Mustang. Dyno operator says 15-20 percent lower numbers than a Dyno Jet. That would be 535-559. I don't know, you decide. On Dunbars last year I put down 480.
Josh (Grand Rock) thanks for putting on a great event even with the problems. Also thanks to my sponsors Patrick and Larry at DiscountPowerParts.

Reason: big ole picture
No motor changes! Last year it was outside 95* and 85 percent humidity. Numbers were 480 and 890. It lost 14hp but gained 52 ft lb of torgue. The smoke was so bad me and my son had to go to the restroom and clean the soot out of our eyes and nose. Looked like we were working in a coal mine. When we left the only thing close was a DMax at 426.
Mike is right, that would be sweet, im sure you could have shot smoke up 50' or more. Is that a load dyno or an acceleration (inertia) dyno? Next year, i'll bet that they use flex pipes to hook on the exhaust to get it out of the shop like they did in the past at Kaufmanns!
It's a load cell. They had flex pipes, just not big enough. They are getting an OBDII connector to get the tach signal. It was supposed to be there for this event but it never showed. Josh at Grand Rock thinks they have an extra exhaust fan that they can mount in the wall close to the top. They are talking about a three day event in July with a show and shine and a burn out box.
Kris Grand Rock is testing inserts to go in the stacks to cut down on the drone. By the looks of them it would spin the exhaust like a tornado.
I have always thought that the spinning exhaust gasses coming out of the downpipe cause reverberations in the thin walled steel pipes, causing the drone. The honey comb thing similar to the TAG used in the turbo intakes that is put in the exhaust is designed to reduce/stop drone by straightening out the exhaust flow. The way mine is now, my smoke somewhat spirals out of the stacks. Maybe the flutes in the new stacks will attack the flow to straighten it out?? Either way, sounds good to me. I hate driving in the Drone Zone (copyright)
Man it can be real bad towing. Mine is better with the taller 6in than the 5in turn outs I had. I asked about back pressure, he said they are testing them now.
530 hybrids, DP tunes and stock oil. This is also tunes that are over two years old. With all the fuel (smoke) down low and no ses lamp I know there is more in it.

Did I read that correctly, you are running a stock HPOP???
