servo cover leaking

servo cover leaking
So my servo cover is leaking what to do? Can I just replace 0 ring behind the cap or do I have to do other things inside? Can I just get any kind of 0 ring or does it have to be a special one? This is a 93 3.0 L extended has 280000.

I'm guessing it's the cover for one of the servos on the side of the transmission.
The replacement O-ring will have to be able to resist high temperature transmission fluid. You might try some high temp RTV first.

thanks for replys guys,another ? Is there suppose to be a heat shield to protect the side of the trans? the converter has one on it ,but should there be another one between converter and trans.I have trans out for this deal cause of 28000 miles on exhast there is on heads left on bolts.

There should be a heat shield held to the side of the transmission by two clamps and a nut. It should be about where the servos and the modulator are installed, blocking direct exposure to the cat con. If yours is missing, it's a good idea to replace it. Either fab one up from sheet metal, or get one from a junk yard donor.
