Exhaust Manifold problem

One of my exhaust manifolds has a leak and causes my truck to idle horiable / may be causing it to make a ticking noise during acceleration, and I was wondering if it would be do able replacement without a lot of stuff going wrong. Plus how much do you think it would cost me to have it done? My truck is a 92 3.0 2wd.

The stock mannies are cast iron, they don't leak offten, maybe it got warpped some how. It maybe better to pickup a set of headers from jba or someone and pickup a couple of ponies while your add it. I'm sure you can pickup a stock manifold at a junkyard for next to nothing as they don't go bad very offten, the biggest thing would be getting the old bolts out as they are rusty and get cancord from heat cycles. May need to soak them down good with pb blaster for a couple of days and may need to heat them as well.

I don't know how it could affect idle, but it could simply be a loose bolt as they do loosen up on occasion. I don't know how closely you checked, but it could also be a pipe flange leaking. The ticking is the exhaust blowing out the opening. Wendell is right, the bolts can be a real challenge to remove, however, on occasion I have gotten lucky. jd

I had had a 2.3 ranger with and intake leak that effected the idle, an exhaust leak will sure tick.
