First, let me say Hello to everyone! I am new here.
Secondly, I did do a search, but haven't seen this particular, or I didn't search with the right terms
1993 Ford E-150 5.0L V8.
Been sitting, unused for about 2 years.
Put in brand new battery. Van powers up ok. Electrical looks good from what I can tell (radio ok, headlights ok, interior lights ok, etc.).
When I try to crank the van, nothing happens.
Starter tests good.
I do hear a single click (like a relay) when I try to crank the van, but *it is not the starter clicking*. I am not sure what it is, or if it even matters.
The problem exists between the battery and the starter.
Fuses all seem good.
Any ideas?
thanks for your hep so far. this definitely seems to me like a starter relay issue. Now, to show my "newbiness" .. where on a 93 e150 is the starter relay located? thanks again...
I my memory serves, follow the smaller diameter cable from the positive side of the battery, it should be right close to the battery somewhere on the fender well.
It will look something like this, but maybe black.
just wanted to let everyone know it was the starter relay.
now the van tries to crank, but nothing happens.
I will start with the plugs first.
I would check for a bad ground on the small black wire with a green stripe going to G101. Left side of engine compartment, near battery, G101 is in the image above.
