synchronizer

A buddy saw a F350 DRW PSD 2000 with 220,000 miles that needs a synchronizer for $11,000.

He asked me for advice and I am not knowledgeable.

Is the synchronizer the component for front driveshaft and rear driveshaft?

Comments on price?

I'm not exactly sure what part they are talking about, but the motor is the single most expensive piece on the truck and it aint that much.

The synchronizer is probably a CPS. The ford bag says synchronizer. If i intrepeted your question correctly hes looking at one that is for sale correct? Not they want to replace it for 11g's?

That would make more sense I was thinking 11K for the synchronizer.

The truck is on private property with the price posted and the statement it needs a synchronizer. I also thought it may need a cps.

The only 2 synchronizers I know of are the CPS < 100.00 and in the manual tranny ZF-6 > 2000.00

There are synchronizers in a manual transmission. There could be a bad one there causing the owner to sell the truck for 11k.

Or the owner got some OUTRAGEOUS estimate from the dealer to replace the CPS (they've been know to do that), and has decided to dump the whole truck.

Tell your buddy that the part, if it IS the CPS, can be had on ebay for around $60.
