This question ties with my other post...I'm looking at getting a boat but in order to pull it I am going to need to get a unit installed underneath to the frame so that I can tow the boat. Any suggestions on hitches and prices?
Also, how to install them? Will I have to take off the spare tire?
Walmart (at least the one here) stocks a Reese hitch for the Rangers. It's a good quality unit (never heard bad comments about it) and it's only $109 from them. Completely bolt on as well.
Well that seems about right...everyone reply at once... lol.
id go with the Reese or the OEM both ate good and the reese ive had on other trucks i tow a 20 foot boat and have used the bumper ball and its been fine
Save your self the trouble and have it welded on. Easier than bolting, and an experienced welder can do it in a matter of minutes. My mechanic put me one on for free... thats how easy it is.
Also, I don't believe Uhaul rents trailers to Rangers. Dont quote me on that though.

I looked on their website and it asked me what level hitch I had, and it had like 1 through 3
I rented a U-Haul trailer a while back, I believe it was 6' x 12' enclosed. U-Haul required my truck be inspected when I got there (to make sure the hitch was a class 3), but had no problems otherwise of renting it to me. It was a laid back inspection to say the least, guy walked out there, looked under my truck, and called it good. Never even looked to see what class the hitch was (it was a class 3 borrowed from a friend).
i'd jump on that $50 OEM one. I installed the same hitch in the parking lot of the local dunkin donuts at around 1 am while shooting the sheet with my friends. No need to remove the tire.
Buy it!! It's a class III right level2? Throw the hitch in to sweeten the deal
Fred
No deal Fred....My hitch cost me $45 without the ball....its a class V that I had on my F350...weighs like 25lbs. $50 is cheap for an hitch anyway. I tried to sell it to benaghetto cuz he lives close but he decided to do something else I guess.
