Well, I did it again...
That turned out to be a blast to drive, but wound up being plagued by the legendary Isuzu oil consumption issues. Unable to fix it - and true to their word - the dealer gave me back the Bronco and let me trade back the Isuzu. As if truly possessed, the Bronco stranded me on the way home as if to say "You'll never get rid of me" - but, behind it's back, I searched for a new truck.
Next up a Chevy Blazer. It turned out to be a nice ride as well. A bit on the small side, and a pain to haul anything in because I was continually putting down tarps and towels and plastic to protect the carpeted insides from the stuff I hauled. It finally got to the point where I needed to haul serious supplies...drywall, plywood, concrete, etc for some home renovation.
About the same time, I had the chance to drive new Chevy, Dodge and Ford full size trucks for work. Putting several thousand miles on each. In a big surprise - especially to me - I actually liked the looks, layout, handling and performance of the Ford the best.
Soooo - I wound up finding a decent used '04 Scab XLT and forking over the cash - not to mention crossing my fingers and making really big wishes for a decent running truck. So far, so good - but it has only been a week!
Just thought I'd take a second to shout out HI.
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that the truck will treat me well.
As for pics - sorry none yet, but just imagine a bone stock, black '04 supercab, 4x4 and that should about do it.
A already have the leveling kit sitting on the work bench in the garage - waiting for time to put it in. Keeping my eyes open for a set of 18x9 Helo Maxx wheels and some 325/60 Nitto's plus a few other bits I want to add. So I will make sure and drag out the camera if anything changes.
