what do you guys suggest for a 93 bronco, 351 e40d and 35s?
would you suggest 4.10 or 4.56? Anyone running either of these combos have any thoughts?
Dave
I have a 93 Bronco with the same engine and trans. I had 32" tires on it before with the stock 3.73 gears. I added the 35" tires and i couldn't go up any hills. i added the 4.56's and hated it. Then i got thinking about the speedometer calibration, and i adjusted that and it made a hell of a difference in the performance of the car. At 80 MPH the tach is at about 2,750. A little high but it does ok. See if you can find a set of 4.30's that would have been perfect, right in the middle of the two.
Go to www.4lo.com. They have a table that calculates size of tire, driveline ratio, rear end ratio and such. If you want facts about how your truck will preform this is the place to go. No affiliations.
I have a 90 full size EB Bronco
I curently have 4.10 on my rig with 33" x 12.5s tires, I have same Engine & Trans. Runs great. If I set cruise control to about 75 to 80 I'll only loose a few mile(slow down) going up hill
Hope this helps
I have 4.10 with the 302/M5OD combo, and the gears just aren't deep enough. Around town, the extra gear keeps you from winding out the motor at every stop light just to keep with traffic. Plus, the auto trannies have much taller OD gears, keeping your revs low on the highway.
