Can I do with my bronco what I do with my 1/2ton truck

I Just bought my bronco to replace my trucks. Can I do with my 79 bronco what I do with my 1/2 ton trucks?
Can I haul An engine it the back?
Can I pull a "loaded" trailer?

I read there the same as a 1/2 ton but wonder if it works the same with the shorter wheel base?

Ive never pulled a trailer with my 79 Bronco but i have hauled around a 390 FE engine in the back and it worked just fine. I used to have a 1980 Bronco and i used to pull around a pickup box trailer with it loaded down with newspapers to take to the recycle center and i never had a problem. But yeah since they are so similar with the 1/2 tons you shouldnt have an issue and should be able to do everything you could do with a 1/2 ton.

Like i said, if you have done it with that F150 you should be able to do it with your bronco. I dont think you will have a problem.

stick to pulling shorter trailers. don't be pulling 27ft campers and boats. might want to consider slightly less tongue weight on the bronco then the f150. the f150 needs the tongue weight and the bronco doesn't. the bronco has a loaded tailgate, a gas tank directly over the rear diff and a heavy fiberglass topper.

possibly wire the bronco for electric trailer brakes, the controller you add to stop a trailer that utilizes electric brakes.

I believe this is the biggest issue when towing with a Bronco.
Vehicle length adds a lot of stability, and the Broncos are short.

yes, the rear wheels would be the fulcrum in the instance the front of the truck lifts because of too much tongue weight or instant load shift. with a longer vehicle such as a f250 4 door and long box, the engine is like 10 feet further forward from the rear wheels.

Same with when there's any type of loss of control of the trailer (strong gust of wind, turn too fast, etc.) The length of a truck will quickly straighten the trailer back out, whereas the short wheelbase of a Bronco can cause the trailer to overtake it and cause it to roll/flip, etc.

As already said, you will be able to haul just as much, just be careful with the lenght of the trailers.
