91 f350 crew cab
I called about a 91 f350 with 7.3 diesel today that's for sale. Guy says it has not been run in about a year and used about a quart of oil a day before he parked it. He has a powerstroke motor with manual tranny that he was going to try and put in the 91 but said it was too much for him to do. Assuming the body is in decent shape (he says it is) what's the truck worth like it sits? E4od was recently rebuilt and I was told everything is working good. I'm thinking maybe a parts truck to have for a spare. He's wanting to get $1500.00 and truck has 188,000 miles on it. I'm just curious to know before I go check it out.

Don't bother with the PSD it requires MAJOR WIRING CHANGES.....the truck as it sits if it is a good body with a running engine.........$1500 would be tops.......as for the oil usage per day that would be almost IMPOSSIBLE..... he would be trailing smoke as in blue/white out. If it was pumping it out you would be able to follow the trail........ Check the coolant/reservior for oil.....

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I told him I wasn't interested in the powerstroke stuff earlier today.Guy tells me on the phone he's afraid somebody will end up only having to put a little money into it and have a good truck. I had to tell him that's always a possibility. That is a lot of oil usage in a days time.
