the cruise control on my 95 f150 doesn't work. can anyone give me some ideas of where to look for the problem. i've never messed with this before and not sure where to begin.
i think my clockspring is bad, horn goes off on it's own. thanks for the help. i plan on pulling steering wheel this weekend. hopefully that fixes problem.
If you have not taken it in for the recall your switch on the Master Cylinder might be bad and ready to catch fire.
This may be why it does not work also.
are you talking about the switch on the bottom of the reservoir?? also, i've got a spare column i can get the clockspring off of, but can i look at it and see something to tell me it's broke?? i'd hate to install this other one to find out it is bad also.

If you do not know about the switch and recall then you have not had the recall done. Get it to a Ford dealer as fast as possible, the recall is FREE. It is a fire hazard.
i did not buy the truck new, so i don't know what has/hasn't been done on the recall, i will find out this weekend. i put the other clockspring i had on truck last night and still have no cruise and airbag light flashing. so i don't know if i just have 2 bad clocksprings or some other problem.

This recall was put out just last year. They put an extra pigtail on the MC and replace the switch if it is bad.
A lot of trucks have burned up and that is why the recall.
I also changed my wiring so the power is off to the CC when the key is off plus I added another smaller fuse that is in series with it.
that's what i plan on doing, will have to wait til i get home and write down the vin. what about the clockspring?? can it be tested?? dealership wants $100 for one.

If it is not broken in two it is properly good.
As I said above it could be a bad switch on the MC. Some of the members have said that the speed control started working again after Ford replaced it free.
Just go to any Ford dealer and pop the hood, it’s free and they can tell by looking if the recall has been done.
