i used this purple cleaner i got at home depot, i think it was called purple stuff? i wouldn't use simple green it pretty rough on aluminum.... just a light spray of the hose and it looked brand new!
I wouldn't even consider a pressure washer. I've had too many issues with too many vehicles with them. The second time after having problems doing it the year before I said I'll just do it a little more gently. Same kind of issues. Tried it on other cars with the same bad results. It's not worth it. Three strikes and the pressure washer is out for me.... Use a degreaser and if you have to a light spray with the garden hose. I can't imagine the seals are that much better on the 6.0 over some of my other vehicles.
6.0 diesel doesnt have a Distrib to get wet or short out the contact...if u know what can be washed and dont hammer on anything it wont hurt...been doin it for many many years. had more issues with so called degreaser chemicals to clean a engine than a pressure washer...
