Trailer Troubleshooting?

Anybody know where I can download any manuals for two and 4 brake systems for trailers? I'm trying to troubleshoot what is going on with my flatbed trailer as I have that intregrated tow command and I've already put an ohm tester to it and I'm getting continuity on the left and right lights switches, but none on the brakes, but if I jump the wires at the plug and test for it at the brakes I have continuity, so it's something with the brakes themselves and because of the intregrated control having that failsafe and not powering when it senses open or a short circuit, I can't use that to test to see what's going on. Any help on being able to either find a good manual to download or a website that could walk me thru various steps I would appreciate it(where is chilton's when you need them).

Screw manuals...

Try this - if it's plugged into a seven way, pop the seperation plug out of the brake failsafe (the thing that the wire rope goes to) and try pulling the trailer.

If the brakes drag hard - the brakes have twelve solid volts applied and they are working.

Put the plug back in (don't get it 90 degrees out - it won't go in that way).

If everything is good so far, go to the "TOWING TRAILER AND FIFTH WHEEL FORUM" and look at the sticky thread at the top, with links to all the stuff I have already posted about this kind of situation.
