Post Wheel studs breaking off

Howdy, I have a 95 bronco. The wheel studs dont seem to like the rotors much since they keep breaking off. I was told that one broke off cause it was torqued to much and the impact trying to get it off actually broke the stud off. But in one case while i was driving down the road all 5 lug nuts striped off their studs and sent the tired flying down the road and the axle skidding on the pavement. And occasionally I will have 1 or 2 studs break off while im driving my truck normal. Each time the a stud would come off I would replace it with a new one and hopefully better one, only to find my self in the same situation a few miles down the road. The tires im runnning are 32x10.50 Swamper TSL Radials. Last time i checked they were balanced and rotated not to long ago. The problem seems to only exist in the front as the rear hasnt been giving me any troubles "yet". Has anyone else come across this problem and if so/ or not/ what is a solution for it? Any and all help is greatly appreciated as im tired of having my rotor's pressed at napa for 20 bucks each time and a total of 8 times now.
Thanks
Gary

Wheel studs breaking off

Do you see any signs of wheel fatigue in the form of cracks or "dimping" near the studs?
as Bline asked, some alum wheels will develop cracks or fatigue from over torquing.

I know the 97/98' f 150's had a prob with stud breakage too; here is an article:
http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:hwoSC_9jA4M:www.mightyap.com/Data/tt100.pdf+%22wheel+stud%22+%2Bfailure&hl=en

Have you seen the Napa people press the new studs on?

I did read an article once about the need to replace adjacent studs when one breaks or is damaged.

Another thing; breakage could occur is the nuts back off 500 miles after a tire change or repair. Breake happens because the wheel is loose and the studs suffer damage or are fatigued. Ford and most wheel mfgrs rec that wheels be re-torqued after 500 miles.

Why are you paying to have the studs pressed.

Whack them out the back and draw the news ones in with a wrench and a socket spacer.

Great work if you can get it. *grin*

Wheel studs breaking off

Howdy again, I am not running the factory wheels, I am running some rock crawler wheels 15x10. I am seeing no sign of cracking or bending on the rims them selves. I am not replacing all the studs when one breaks only the broken one, should I or is this just gonna break my pocket book? The reason I am taking them to Napa to get pressed on is due to the ABS ring on the back of the rotor, and that has to be pressed on. Otherwise I could wack them on with a punch and a hammer. I understand a puller can be used to get on the ABS ring, but have not experimented with that, yet. I talked to a guy about some studs a few days ago and he mentioned some grade 8 studs? Would i not already be using something like that or what? An idea i guess, I dunno?
