i have a friend who has a 93 F250. i am not an EFI guy at all either carb or diesel and i can work on it without a brain.
he pressure washed the engine(after i told him not to) and now it is idling high, missing, has poor acceleration and sometimes cuts out at idle but fires rightr back up.
when i unplugged the air bypass on the throttle body it idles down but still runs like crap.
he cleaned the cap out and sprayed wd 40 in it.
i looked at it all day yesturday and have no clue about this efi crap
does anyone have an idea??? we had codes pulled and being OBD-I it showed nothing. the ignition module was tested good.
Did he cover his Dist? How's about his computer on the firewall under the driverside kickpanel? Sounds like he got water in everywhere, IAT sensor, why would you spray WD 40 into a Cap? Water most likely got into the spark plug openings, best bet, drive it, and dry it out, I have had problems with that and after some driving it works it self out. Oh yea, don't be so narrow minded about EFI, its like anything else, do a little research and you might just learn something, Think of all the time you have spent, with that Carb Crap! Good luck.
