OK, this group don't recognize the southern bro's! I reckon it fits; at least it does within the political circle.

I believe that where the meeting is being held is a good hour and a half drive for a few of the guys that will be attending, but I see your point. Illinois is a big state. I doubt if the location has much to do with a 'political circle' It's just a place that has been offered up and accepted. I'm new to the chapter, so I'm probably out of line, but maybe there should be a Northern Illinois Chapter and a Southern Illinois Chapter, so that anyone that wants to 'play well with others' doesn't have to make a 6 hour drive for a get together. How far south are you? I mean if you're down by Carbondale or Effingham, maybe the Indiana or Missouri Chapters get together closer to you. Jusy a thought and my 2 cents.

yours concerns about distance are def constructive
The group of us up here in the Chicagoland area are just that, you guys have a more southern location

I don't think he meant the political circle around here, I think he is referring to the feeling that all IL legislation is pushed through by the Chicago political circle and the rest of the state gets hosed. Pretty much if you live outside the Chicago area it's like the state ignores you. Travel to another state and say that you're from IL and they automaticaly assume you're from Chicago. It gets real old to us outsiders.

BTW I don't think I will be able to make it to the meeting, I have a wedding to go to that weekend. I'm going to try to make it up some time this summer.

Or maybe we could put together a meeting in Central IL, (Bloomington, Peoria, Springfield) so us outsiders can make it easier.

I was actually toying with the idea of offering my place in Mazon for a little more "Southern" location. Maybe in July or Aug. Just an idea.

meeting

Beerstalker is dead on, on his take of my post.
I'm not trying to stir up any trouble, or hassle anyone. Judging form the posters, this is mainly a N.ILL group and thats totally cool.
I'm just not into driving 300 - 350 miles for a meeting.
