I've decided to swap the gray interior of my '93 3.0L with my '93 4.0L crashed tan/brown interior. The crashed Aero has quad seating and a nice fold-flat rear seat. The gray interior of my "operational" Aero has 14 years of kids and dogs and camping and...
Everything seems to be fairly straight forward - replacing the plastic trim, the seats, the carpets, etc. Even the steering wheel is fairly easy. The part that I have NO experience is the padded dash and the hard plastic along the bottom of the dash. Is this a difficult job?

Not difficult at all.....Last year I replaced the grey interior of a 91 XLT with the tan interior of my wrecked 90 Eddie Bauer. The Haynes manual shows the exact locations for the bolts and screws holding the dash. It is pretty straight forward. If I remember correctly, there is a pin on the padded part of the dash that fits into a hole and locates the mounting position. Everything lines up real well after that. There are only 3 bolts underneath and a bunch of little screws along the edge of the windshield that hold the dash. I went as far as moving all of the doors from the 90 to the 91 also. The 91 did not have power windows, doors or mirrors. I also brought the trip computer and the lighted vanity mirrors across.
A suggestion: After removing all of the grey panels in the rear I inserted some unfaced fibreglass batting material in all the open spaces as insulation and sound proofing. Really makes a big difference.
