Steering Grear Ratio
Hello all, I have been waiting on the engine for my trunk. Its 1997 F150 5.4 4x2 with 373 rear grear. My dad gave me a 2003 F150 4.6 4x2 with 308 rear grear. Their is a lot of differances in the way the drive and feel. Did Ford change the steering grear ratio for the newer trucks? Or maybe mine is just worn out and I should replace the worn parts. My truck does have twice the miles on it. (110,000 on 1997 and 66,000 on the 2003) I have wide wheels (17 x 9.5) and tires (285/60x17) on 1997 and stock on 2003. I sure do like the way the newer truck drives. Its not as quick but it drives well.
