I think this means that they replaced the turbo (warranty). A TSB is a "technical service bulletin". So if there was a recall or a new computer flash for your truck they would have performed the work that day. Hope this helps.

BTW this isnt my truck but one im looking at buying. This is the info they gave me for warranty work that was done.

The first three entries had the same claim#

The last two entries had the same claim#

So am I to assume they replaced the turbo twice?
Is any of what I posted (warranty work) something I should be concerned about, if the turbo was replaced twice that cant be a good thing can it?

Drove over to the dealership tonight that had one of the trucks. They were closed of course. Its a nice truck, and optioned out just right.

But got under the truck and found some oil on, I guess what you call the bell housing.
(In the center of the truck, just forward of the front doors)
Wasnt alot but it was there, not sure where its coming from because im not a mechanic and I dont know really what to look for. It was laying on the flat part of the bottom of the bellhousing. It also appeared that the, (what I would take is the oil pan, is black, and just forward of the bellhousing) had some oil residue around the backside of it, in where its bolts up to the engine and in the area of the oil on the bell housing Wish I had a digital camera but dont.
What I did find interesting is that (laying so your head is at the front of the truck, feet at the rear)there is apparently 3 bolts on the bottom of the housing 2 at the bottom and 1 in the upper left of the housing.
The bolt in the upper left of the housing you could turn by hand, it would go about 2 turns backwards and 2 turns forward but you couldnt remove it all the way.

So is this a bad sign and asking for trouble?

Guys need some more input on this.

Post#1.. From my very 1st post, and the info on the warranty work.
Am I to assume they replaced the turbo twice. Those entries were on the print out from the dealer for work they performed. The first three entries had the same claim#,The last two entries had the same claim#. 2 different dates-Work performed at different times.
Not sure from the technical wording they use what exactly they did. Good or Bad?

Post#6... Bellhousing drip..and loose bolt. What should I make of this? Would like to post that picture if someone could help me out getting it posted somehow.

WishIhada...this truck has about 33500 miles on it. So it would be broken in by now. Am I to assume the worst if theres oil hanging off it?

Thanks for the help

For the picture go to user cp on the blue bar at the top, go to gallery and you can download picture there. As far as everything else I am not a mechanic so I really don't know except it looks to me that they replace the turbo unless one of the cutoff sections said anything about an actuator, that part number is for the turbo vane actuator. Don't know about the bolts would have to go look at my truck.

If it is just a small amount or just drips I wouldn't worry. It's a diesel motor and they seap oil. If it is a large amount then I would be concerned but a little drippage is nothing to worry about....

if it drips take it in and have them put dye in the oil then figure out where it is leaking from. 6.0's all seem to have the wet bellhousing due to the fact the rear-main and bed plate are all in the rear...both major oil leaking culprits...
