difference in fuel pumps

what is the difference in fuel pumps? I have a 94' explorer and when I look for a new pump there are multiple choices as far as amount of fuel pressure it appears. I am either looking to improve millage or gain power do different pumps offer different features. Whats the best one to buy

Assuming you are going to go with the original in tank pump, I don't think you have that many options. Usually the pumps are specific to the model (4wd vs 2wd, XLT, Limited ..etc) of the Explorer. I also suggest you go with the entire assembly vs. just the pump. It's not that much more $ and an easier install. Also, the Gen I Explorers have a tendancy for the fuel pump fittings to rust out. If you go with the whole assembly it will include the fittings.

The pump should be the same for each model as the 4.0 OHV was the only motor offered in these trucks
