Smile Clearance Lights

I have read several outstanding posts about installing clearance lights, the most detailed from Motoman. My SD is a 2004 XLT, so no overhead console. Question, would there still be a wiring harness located behing the passenger side kick panel? If there is not, will I need to use after market light. Thank you for your assistance.

Even if there's not a harness, you can always simply tap into the brown wire that runs all over the place - it's the parking light circuit.

Any of you guys know if you can install clearance lights on a CC with a factory moonroof? Does anybody have a truck with factory lights and a moonroof. I'm just wondering about wiring/clearance issues. Thanks.

I'm not sure Ed. but I have seen trucks around with both the factory moonroof and lights. I bet it can be done.

Yes, I have a 2007 CC with both the moonroof and clearance lights from the factory. Only mod I did was replace the amber lenses with the clear ones from RECON. I can tell you that there is NOT enough room to install one of the vent visor guards.

hey guys, as far as the moonroof goes, is it feasible to install a moonroof in a truck that didnt come factory with one? I have the clearance lights atop my HD edition, but no sun/moonroof. That boggles me, becuse most similiar trucks i've seen came with that option. Sucks for me. Has anyone done it?

With money, you can do anything. I've seen a moonroof installed on a truck that didn't come with it stock (I think on the Trucks TV show), but I just couldn't bring myself to cut that size of a hole in my roof. It seems like it is bound to go wrong. Can it be done? I bet so. Is it worth it? IMO, no.
