I have a 1985 F250Hd Diesel it has two tanks on it, the bed it rusted out, but i have a bed with a single door in it. I would like to have dual tanks, i was thinking about removing the back tank and then put a tank with a tools box in the bed. And have it still run off the selector swith and gauges, what would i have to do.
I was thinking about just putting in another guage to show the level of that tank, because i might to hooking up a pump so i could fill my tractors up if i have to.
That would be easy then, if you got a tank that had it's own level gauge with it, or it was setup for some aftermarket sending unit and gauge system you could buy.
As far as the fuel lines, I would try use the original lines that went to the rear tank. I am not too familiar with diesels, but I think they have a fuel return line, so you probably already have a switching valve on the frame rail that takes care of switching the main fuel supply as well as the return lines.
