Guys would a 4 core radiator really be worth its weight in gold on a lifted 92 F-150 that is going through a few engine upgrades such as some better flowing heads, more aggresive camshaft and some a high flowing intake?
Maybe if you're doing alot of stop and go driving with A/C on and it's 100 degrees outside. That's what we run down here in Tucson...and yes that big radiator sure is worth it's weight in gold.
Build your engine, and be DARN sure of your Air/Fuel mixture. One other thing- there seems to be alot of snake oil selling on what a Ford needs. The Intake and the Ignition systems on these trucks work VERY good until you get up into Supercharging and stuff. Mosey onto the builder side of this site - I bet you'll get the following order.
1) Exhaust
2) A better cam
3) MAYBE the Mustang GT heads.
4) It's a truck, gaddabit!
1) 94 Mustang Cobra GT40 Iron Heads with 1.7 Crane/Cobra Roller rockers
2) 302HO roller camshaft advanced 4* for more lower end grunt
3) 99 Explorer Shortblock bottom end
4) 96 Explorer GT40 Upper and Lower intake setup
All those upgrades should be complimented with a good cooling system and I figured with a brand new waterpump that a good 4 core radiator would be overkill, but that's fine with me...!
