Question help only can make right hand turns?????

I have a 73 f-100 4x4 with manual steering. I just replace the steering box and now can only turn the steering wheel to the right. Please help with some advice on getting every thing centered. I am new with this whole truck stuff I dont know alot about the steering parts just the engine and trans. Any help would be excellent.

Did you install the pitman arm yourself? You may have installed it 45 deg the wrong direction, and the box is out of travel. You may have to straighten the wheels, and the remove the pitman arm, then turn the box (steering wheel, because now it is attatched) until it is centered within its travel, and re-install the arm. I think this may be your trouble.

I think the manual box is multi indexed to install the arm in different orientations. The power assist with the hydro assist does not. I don't wanna send you on a wild goose chase, but I think we are headed in the right direction here, good luck.
