Smoke Odor

Not a mechanical problem , but does anyone have a good way to get rid of or help tone down smokers odor in a truck.

Believe it or not, my buddy used one of those portable ionizer thins and it got rid of all the smells in his truck, pet, tobacco, and plain old work funk.

Febreeze actually works pretty well.

Try leaving a small brown paper bag with coffee grounds or baking powder in it, under the seat (maybe a few of them spread around the truck) - helps absorb odors.

Those two things and maybe driving with the windows down quite a bit to help get fresh air running through it are all I can think of. A shampoo of the carpets couldn't hurt - maybe wipe the seats/dash down with some sort of car cleaner.

I use febreze and I have tossed a couple of dryer sheets under the seat.

Besides cleaning the carpet as suggested clean all the surfaces as best you can. get the tar etc cleaned off and it will make a big diference.
