Deciphering and OASIS report?
Is there a cross-reference document somewhere that demonstrates how to interpret the cryptic "code language" in the OASIS report?
What I am looking for primarily is the "header" type of information, and how to parse it against the line beneath it. I can match up certain portions of the information between the two lines, but not all of it (i.e. VIN, dates, and miles are easy ones). I would also like to know what the abbreviated header headings represent as well. For example:
Header line:
VIN VEH LINE MKT DERIV BODY CAB VER SERIES DRIVE TYPE PLT CD TRS CD ENG CD PROD DATE WARR DATE SELLING DEALER SELL CNT TIS WCC CPSC_6 PREF BASE SUFF CCC CD DIST(Miles)
Corresponding data line below header:
1FTNW20F32EA27137 T/F7 F T/BC T/BD T/B A1 T/D8 T/DS 14-AUG-2001 04-OCT-2001 152182 USA 1 5G05 040001 * FRONT * H26 W6 1417
I know that all those details aren't necessarily "got to know" kind of things, but I would really like to understand everything that I'm looking at when I look over my OASIS, since it is quite cryptic in many ways. Also, this is not as important for my current vehicle as it is for the one that I will soon purchase.
Like always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
