well, my 04 FX4 Supercab will be needing new tires soon..I have almost 55k on the original BFG Rugged Trails, and have been happy with their performance.
I'm thinking of getting them again, at Costco they are very reasonably priced here in CT. Options seem limited for the 18inch wheel. Any suggestions? My friend put I believe Bridgestone Dueler Revos on his truck, but they were almost 55.00 more each that the BFG's
Another easily avaialable option are the Goodyear Wranglers, but other than that, not too much around. Thoughts????
Truck is still stock, no lifts, leveling kits, etc.
I have the Bridgestone Dueller Revos and so far so good. I have the 265 70 18's and they fit great even before my 2" leveling kit. I have pics in my gallery before the kit. I only have 6k miles on them but they ride great on the highway and handle good. I hope I get at least 50k out of them. I paid $189 a tire installed at a local dealer.
Stick with the BFG's, possibly go up to the A/T's. Best truck tire made, IMO. Had those junk Wranglers once on a truck I bought, couldn't get them off fast enough and slap on a set of BFG's!
Stick with the BFG's... Bridgestone sucks... Had them on and got 16,000 miles on one set before Firestone replaced them, and then 14,000 out of the last set before they replaced them again... then I traded the truck! They do not last, even with proper inflation, rotations and alingments! Yes it was the Revo's too...
You've probably got the Long Trails or Rugged Trails, they're OK but the A/T's are better. Keep them aired up, rotate them regularly, and you should get 50k out of them.

you are the first person I've seen to slam the Revo's...did you have the LT or the P tires? and on what vehicle? and these weren't part of the Firestone recalls from 2000/2001 were they?
i have a set of 265/70/17 michelins on my S'Crew...they are great tires...they just don't come in 18iners yet...we have a set of BFG A/T KOs on the Jeep, they are also excellent tires...there have been a few posts on the forum about people sticking with the rugged trails and having balancing issues...
If you want a tire that not only looks great, Firestone Destination AT's are rated right up there with Revo's, if not better. They're also reasonably priced.
I recently bought a set and I'm very happy with them. They're aggressive looking but are extremely quiet as far as road noise goes. I haven't had them long enough to rate them in snow, or dirt, but wet traction seems very good, and they handle much better than the stock Americraps I had.
The Destination AT comes in 275 65 TR 18's.

thats not necessarily an accurate statement, it doesn't take much to outperform the General/Continental Tires on these trucks...lol...you'd almost be better off driving on the rims...

Ouch!!! Don't mince your words there, johntucker, speak your mind !! LOL!!
well, i could have said that you would probably get more miles riding on the rims than you would the tires...but i figured that was a little too far over the edge...
