I have a 2007 Harley Davidson and my antenna keeps hitting my garage door, and hitting signs in the garage at work. Where can I get a SHORTER replacement antenna? Any suggestions? Are they easy to replace?
Remove the antenna from the mount. Using a piece of rubber, like from an inner tube, use a pair of vice grips and remove the little ball from the mast. You'll probably have to put the mast in a vice. Just make sure you clamp it close to the ball.
Once you have the ball off, cut the mast to the size you like, then using a file or a Dremel, shape the end of the mast so it fits snugly back into the ball. Using epoxy, or a dab of JB Weld or something similar, glue the ball back onto the mast.
My 2007 came with a rubber type bumper on the passanger door to prevent dings when I open it and hit another car, wall, etc. The driver side does not have one. Where can I find one for my drivers side? Is there a website that sells them? It is a black rubber strip that clips onto the edge of your door when you open the door. I would really like one on both sides. Please help.
