Nice burnt rubber smell!
Okay, I run out to the store at lunch and have the defrost on. When I get there, I have this nice burning rubber smell coming from under the hood. I take a look, and it's the rubber caps on the end of the A/C compressor. It somehow got really hot. Has anyone had this happen to them? The A/C has worked fine all summer. My first guess is the compressor circuit is not cycling, and the compressor is staying on at all times. I haven't really had time to diagnose it yet, just looking for some other experiences first.
